With an overwhelming flood of young victims, child abuse cries not only for action but also for prevention. Early care and education programs create conditions that help lower the occurrence of maltreatment and neglect, but parent education is the key. Learn about protective factors such as the stages of child development, coping skills, finding professional services and building support groups, in this 30-minute program following a live panel discussion. A Walk Upstream is produced in conjunction with the Arkansas Children’s Trust Fund and the Arkansas Department of Human Services.

The mission of the Arkansas Children's Trust Fund is to build and maintain a system of services, laws, practices and attitudes that prevent child abuse and neglect. These efforts support Arkansas families by enabling them to provide their children with a safe, healthy and nurturing childhood.

The Arkansas Department of Human Services Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education provides a variety of services for child care facilities and families seeking early care, including child care licensing, financial assistance for early care and education, program support and development and special nutrition programs.
