New Arkansas History Online PD Course for 2009-10

"The Buffalo Flows" is a 2008 U of A documentary written, produced and provided to Arkansas IDEAS Learn Now! system by Emmy award winning filmmaker Dr. Larry Foley for the development of an Arkansas History Course to be released along with Dr. Foley's documentary "The Buffalo Flows" that aired in conjunction with Ken Burn's PBS National Parks Documentary via AETN in September of 2009. Our thanks to Dr. Larry Foley and Crew

"There's not just one thing that makes the Buffalo so special, so unique," Foley said. "When the 'Battle for the Buffalo' was won, protecting the river from being dammed, we saved a national natural treasure.

This story is about the bluffs and the trees, the flowers and the birds and the giant elk. It's about hiking and floating and camping and fishing. And, it's also about the people who make their home in Buffalo River country year round, and have for generations."
